Sunraze Slam

Rules

 

Age Divisions:    10U, 12U, 14U 

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TEAMS ACCEPTED IS 42
 

Format:
·        
Pool play to single elimination

·         Pool play tie-breakers as follows:
·        
Record
·        
Head-to-head

·         Runs allowed
·        
Coin Flip 

The following are tournament guidelines;
·        
1:20-minute games (finish the inning). Umpires will be asked to keep games moving to maximize playing
       time.  No new inning can start after 1:20 minutes.

·        
Elimination rounds: No new inning can start after 1:20 (same as pool play)
·        
No time limit for semi-finals and finals.
·        
All of these game times are Weather Permitting 

NSA Sanctioned tourney:
·        
NSA rules apply
·        
You MUST turn in your completed, signed, official NSA roster and sanction number before your first game.
      Coaches need to report to the director’s tent at each site. 

Schedule: 
·        
Pool Play into single elimination. 
·        
All games will be played at Kirtland High School in Lake County and Munson fields in Geauga County. 
·        
KHS is five minutes or less from the intersection of route 90 and 306.

We will attempt to play every game. If tournament is total rainout or an insufficient number of games are
       played to determine a winner a lottery will determine awards & WS berths in consultation with NSA
       Directors.   One berth for each four teams entered.
 

Score Sheets:
·        
Your coaches packet will contain blank score sheets. We would like both teams to fill them out & turn them
       in to the tourney tent (or one of our helpers) immediately after each game.
 

 

 

Rain Refund Policy:
·        
If no games are played, refunds will be given less paid fixed expenses. 

Awards:
·        
Team Awards & individual awards to 1st place and 2nd place in each division.
·        
Individual awards for skill competition (younger age groups only)
·        
MVP medals for every pool play game
·        
Home run trophies 

Mercy Rule: (NSA Rules) 

Game Tie Breakers:
·        
If tied after seven innings or time limit the NSA Tie Breaker Rule will be used during single elimination.
·        
Pool play games can end in a tie 

Protests:
·        
Only per NSA rules & at the discretion of Tournament Director & any NSA officials at the tournament.  $100
       non-refundable required for protest fee.
 

Rain:
·        
Pools play games will be cut or shortened as needed.  Single elimination will start Sunday morning.
·        
In the case of rain on Sunday, the tournament championship game will be determined by record, then head-
      to-head, then runs allowed, then coin flip.
 

Misc.:
·        
Ample warm up areas.
·        
NSA approved balls, Umpires and Rules unless noted above.
·        
2 NSA sanctioned umpires for every game.
